Liontamer is a fund manager who
specialises in capital protected investments (sometimes called ‘structured
retail products’). Launched in 2003, Liontamer is well-known
in the New Zealand market for its innovative range of capital
protected funds that access a range of investment opportunities
including global, regional and emerging markets, commodities,
as well as ecological investment themes such as water and alternative
energy.
Since May 2007, Liontamer has been majority owned by the asset
management arm of one of Europe’s largest banks, KBC Group.
Belgium-based KBC is a very large financial services company
with a market capitalisation that is bigger than all of
New Zealand’s top 15 companies combined. KBC is listed
on the Euronext Brussels and the Luxembourg Stock Exchanges.
